Data processing

When we run a WhatsApp assistant, Longstop or a website for you, the personal data of your customers belongs to you. You decide why it is collected and what happens to it. We process it on your instructions, as your processor. In India that makes you the Data Fiduciary and us the Data Processor under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Our data processing agreement
We sign a data processing agreement with any client who asks for one. It covers the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and India's DPDP Act. For clients in the UK and the European Economic Area it includes the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum to them, because our team is in India and some of the companies listed below are in the United States.

What the agreement commits us to
- We use your customers' data only to run the service you bought, and never to train AI models.
- We tell you within 48 hours of finding a personal data breach that affects your data.
- We give you 30 days' notice by email before adding or replacing a subprocessor, and you can object.
- WhatsApp conversations are deleted 24 months after the last message, and at once when a customer asks to be erased.
- When the service ends we delete your data within 30 days, after giving you a copy if you ask for one.
- We help you answer your customers' requests to see, correct or delete their data.

Your own accounts
These providers hold your data under your own agreement with them, so they are not our subprocessors.
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform). Your WhatsApp Business account is yours, under Meta's terms with you. We connect to it as a Meta Tech Provider.
- Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Longstop reads your mail inside your own account, which stays under your agreement with Google or Microsoft.
- Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Ads. Your advertising and analytics accounts are in your name. We work in them with the access you grant.
